Shaped / Bricks

Pressed and fired in-house at 150,000 t/yr capacity — from our own Dead Burned Magnesia through to the full alumina-silicate range.

Precision-pressed bricks from our own raw material.

Every basic brick KONREF produces starts from the same source: our own Dead Burned Magnesia, sintered from Türkiye's cryptocrystalline magnesite ore on our rotary kiln. The raw material is quality-controlled before it reaches the pressing hall — which is why our bricks are consistent batch to batch.

Shaping runs on 15 hydraulic presses (up to 2,000 t) and firing on four tunnel kilns to 1,600 °C. Every product line is checked in our in-house laboratory. All shapes are available in standard and custom geometries.

Our shaped refractory families.

Each family is produced under its own KONREF brand. Representative grades are shown below; full per-grade datasheets are in the downloadable catalogues.

What ISO 9001 since 1996 means in practice.

  • Chemical analysis — MgO, C, CaO, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, Cr₂O₃ measured on each production batch.
  • Physical testing — bulk density, apparent porosity, cold crushing strength, refractoriness under load.
  • Dimensional inspection — all shapes checked against specified tolerances.
  • Test reports with every shipment — physical and chemical results per consignment.
  • Traceable to the ore — batch identity links back through production to the raw DBM and magnesite origin.
