Magnesia-Carbon Bricks (MgO-C)
KOMACARResin-bonded magnesia-carbon bricks combining high-purity sintered magnesia with graphite for outstanding slag resistance and thermal-shock performance.
Pressed and fired in-house at 150,000 t/yr capacity — from our own Dead Burned Magnesia through to the full alumina-silicate range.
Every basic brick KONREF produces starts from the same source: our own Dead Burned Magnesia, sintered from Türkiye's cryptocrystalline magnesite ore on our rotary kiln. The raw material is quality-controlled before it reaches the pressing hall — which is why our bricks are consistent batch to batch.
Shaping runs on 15 hydraulic presses (up to 2,000 t) and firing on four tunnel kilns to 1,600 °C. Every product line is checked in our in-house laboratory. All shapes are available in standard and custom geometries.
Each family is produced under its own KONREF brand. Representative grades are shown below; full per-grade datasheets are in the downloadable catalogues.
Resin-bonded magnesia-carbon bricks combining high-purity sintered magnesia with graphite for outstanding slag resistance and thermal-shock performance.
Resin-bonded alumina-magnesia-carbon bricks engineered for in-situ spinel formation and volume stability under cyclic thermal load.
Resin-bonded alumina-silicon carbide-carbon bricks with high abrasion and slag resistance for the harshest hot-metal handling.
Directly fired magnesia bricks from high-purity sintered magnesia, for applications demanding high refractoriness and basic-slag resistance.
Fired magnesia-chrome and chrome-magnesia bricks — direct-bonded and fused-grain grades for severe thermomechanical and corrosion conditions.
Chemically bonded, steel-encased magnesite and magnesia-chrome bricks that knit together in service to form a stable monolithic lining.
Fired magnesia-spinel bricks based on seawater magnesia, fused magnesia and spinel — chrome-free, for clean operation and high flexibility.
Fired magnesia-spinel "U-Concept" bricks for the transition zones of modern cement kilns, balancing coating ability and thermal-shock resistance.
The full alumina-silicate brick range — from fireclay through high-alumina, andalusite, silicon-carbide-bearing, chrome-corundum-zircon and insulating grades.
Pitch-bonded and pitch-impregnated magnesia bricks for high-wear basic applications requiring low porosity and strong slag resistance.
